Kelli is a nurse who was struggling to transition from military to civilian life. She was up against challenges that we’ve seen many military veterans face. As Kelli searched for housing, she was staying in an RV that was deemed uninhabitable. And when trying to find work, she realized there would be a great number of courses and recertifications she would need to take in order to have her nursing license reinstated. That’s when Kelli contacted Adjoin. In working with the team’s housing coordinators, Kelli was placed in permanent housing within 60 days of enrollment. From there, we collaborated with her to create a career plan that would best fit her needs. Kelli now works as a registered nurse in the state of California. She has transitioned from Adjoin’s SSVF re-housing program to light case management services. Today, she continues to serve her community, pay off debt, save money, and is even working towards purchasing her first home using a VA loan.
We are so proud of the progress Kelli has made! To learn more about Kelli or how to access resources in support of military veterans in California, visit our website today at adjoin.org/impact.
